The
probability that a coin flipped twice in succession will show heads
twice is 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4 . Thrice in succession 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 =
1/8 . So you see the more you flip heads the less chance of the same
outcome on the next flip. So again if you flip a coin twice with heads
the probability of heads on the third flip is 1/8 and the probability
of anything but heads i.e tails on that third flip is 1 - 1/8 = 7/8.
So there's a high chance of flipping tails on the third flip, bet
on tails. And naturally the probability of either heads or tails on
that third flip is 1/8 + 7/8 = 1 , so it has to be one of the two. |
