Flipping a Coin - How it works

For the stability of the coin flip to be normal the total number of Heads should be equal to the total number of Tails flipped. So that one of these divided by the total number of throws should be as close as possible to 1/2. So if the number of heads is more than tails it is very probable that the next flip will be tails.

To beat the system in a bet on a consequtive coin flip you could simply take a mental note of each total number of heads and tails and to have an advantage keep betting on the outcome that has a lower value. And according to the laws of probability you should win more than you should lose, especially if the diffeence between the totals is not small.

Because of the sheer simplicity of flipping a coin, that is the outcome can only be one of two it is very likely that over a high number of coin flips the total heads will be comparatively close to the total tails so it will be difficult to take advantage of.
