There
is a very important difference between gambling using luck alone and
the alternative, controlling the game. A feedback control system has
to be used to gain an advantage, this is a simple idea but is the
difference between winning and losing.
Feedback
is about monitoring the game in front of you taking mental note of
the results be they numbers and colors in roulette or the cards in
a blackjack game. When you feed information back to yourself about
the game you can analyze it and use it to control your reaction. This
idea probably sounds silly to you but in mathematics it is the difference
between an intelligent 'machine' and a dumb one that does not react
to its enviroment.
